Help !!!! I have searched just about all of the windows
support sites and i still do not have a solution!!! When
I try to start windows 2000 I recieve this error
message : Stop: C0000139 {Entry Point not Found} The
procedure entry point BitBlt could not be located in the
Dynamic Link Library GDI32.DLL. It then tells me to
restart using safe mode if this is the first time this
message appeared. I try that and it still wont startup
and goes directly to a solid blue screen with this
message. I do not have my startup disk or a windows 2000
installation CD !!!!!!!!! somebody out there please help
me if u can !!!!!!!! I'M IN DESPAIR

Without a win cd disk yr stuck.
Is this purchance a sys in which the vendor placed a recovery partition on
the hd, If so your only option I believe is to use that. Of course any data
on the boot disk will be wiped out, but of course you have backups dont you?
You *may* be able to recover by using another valid win2k cd - I'm not sure

Lisa,
You should be able to use a friend's Windows 2000 CD to boot from.
It sounds like GDI32.DLL is the wrong version. There could be other core
files messed up too if that is the case.

Look at the date/time stamps for:
GDI32.DLL
USER32.DLL

for starters. I suspect at least one or two files have been replaced
erroneously.

You may need to extract them from the Windows 2000 CD or have a friend with
the same service pack of Windows 2000 as your machine burn their files to a
CD so you can get them on to your machine.

Jim.

Thanks guys but that is another problem. I know that if i
had a friend with the same version of win 2000 and it was
original and not FTP I could use it to boot, but I dont
and I sure as heck dont want to spend $$$.$$ to but one.
I was only hoping for another solution. I installed
windows xp using my dads cd and now I can't get it
activated and my computer is slow as ___ any solutions on
how to uninstal win 2000 without formatting the hd
because I think if I have to reformat it I won't be able
to install winxp> somehow i managed to install it using
thee recovery console last time. any way thanks for ur
