Hi,

I'm trying to install Service Pack 4 on my home machine
that isn't connected to the Web yet. I've downloaded SP4
to a CD, but it hangs up early in the install and gives
me the following message:

"The following error occurred while SP4 setup
attempted to download the SP4 files from the
internet: The server name or address could not be
resolved. If this error persists go to the Windows
2000 Service Pack Web Site and select "problems
downloading the service pack" This will give you
instructions on how to download a version of the SP
that does not require a web connection during
installation."

Has anyone had this come up before? I've tried to go to
the site listed, but find no "problems downloading the
SP" I've tried typing that into the various
search/support areas, and turn up nothing? I re-
downloaded it tonight to CD, this time the "Network"
version, and I'll try it again, but I'm wondering if
anyone has run across this before, and can point me in
the right direction. Thanks.

.

Like I said before, you downloaded the loader program. It
starts the installation, and then connects to the web to
download the rest of the SP. If your CD now contains the
~129 MB SP4 file, you should have no problems.
