Hi there,
I got a really annoying issue - I'm trying to upgrade our
Windows 2k from SP2 to service pack 4 on our server
machines x6 (which all have near identical setups).
5 work without any issues, and upgrade from SP2 to SP4
without a problem.
One machine however comes back with the error 'An error in
updating your system has occured' - it then goes on to say
that I'm able to leave the machine in thje crrent state
with SP4 half installed (but warns it may not work
correctly), or rollback (which I decided was best to do
since the system was in a working state).
This error is reported towards the end of the install
(when the installation of all files is complete and the
installation is finishing - i.e. udating registry and
finishing off).
Additionally I tried to upgrade from SP2 to SP3 which
worked without a problem - but still trying to upgrade
from SP3 to SP4 give the same error.
The error message is not so helpful - but any help you
could provide is appreciated
Many thanks.
