Please help. I have been running my computer with windows
2000 for the past year. When I shut it down the other day
I lost everything. I installed it again and lost
everything again last night. Can not understand why I
keep losing everything. Can anyone help??
Thanks

I lost all my programs and hardware everytime it shut
down. When I reboot to windows 2000 it says C://Winnt
missing. Can you hel? I am lost.

I have been running this system for over a year and no
problems. Everytime I shut the computer off I have to
reload windows 2000. I can not even repair it. I actually
made a repair disc and that didn't work either. It keeps
telling me things are missing like C:\\Winnt. No clue
what that means or why all of a sudden I am having this
problem. I have not changed anything on the system.
Please help.

Try booting from the Win2K cd, you may have to set the boot sequence to cd
in the bios.
Bios often accessed by hitting DEL as sys starts/posts
Then selecting repair, and following prompts.
If you have to do a reinstall I would suggest logging on to www.symantec.com
and doing an online scan

the second time you re installed win2K all your data and
applications were still there ?

If yes re install again and before you shut down ensure you
do an up to date virus check, I would also suggest
somethiing like adaware to check there is nothing malicious
on the system.

Have you done a scan disk to check the integrity of the
drives.

Have you booted from the cd and looked at the repair options
there ?

Can you boot from a dos disk or win98 boot disk from the
floppy ? are all the files and data still on the system.

good luck

.

It could be a hardware problem. Ran a check on your Raid
device and your harddisk.
