I had Red Hat 7.2 installed on 120Gig drive. I deleted all
partitions using RH installation disk. I'm trying to
install Windows 2000 on the same disk using Windows 2000
CD. Bios recognizes 120Gig drive but when step comes to
install Windows on a specific partition, it says HARD
DRIVE NOT FOUND.

Then I tried to install Windows 98 on the same drive and
its installation was successfull. But again I tried to
install Windows 2000 but I got the same error drive not
found.

What should be done to overcome this obstacle. Any
comments or suggestion are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Sean.

This is occuring because Windows 2000 does not have driver for you hard
drive controller. I suspect you have IDE drive maybe with Promise or
other controller. You need a Windows 2000 driver floppy with the
controller driver on it. You can make at the web site for the
manufacturer of your drive controller. Boot from CD and press F6 when
you see the message on the screen and put in the floppy drive with the
driver. You can then load the driver and continue the Windows 2000
setup.
