I have a server running Windows 2000 Server with AD setup
using the name judicial.local.
I have 5 shares i'm wanting to setup with DFS. I already
have the first server up and running with DFS right now
with about 5 gigs worth of information in the shares. Can
I just connect the new server to the old one with AD and
then setup DFS to replicate the information?? Will it
just copy the data or do I need to do anything?? I'm new
to this and I have no idea what to do.

Please help me! =) Thanks

Thank you so much! I'm going to try it Monday first thing
and see what happens.

I have tried it befor and I didn't know what I did wrong.
It would never replicate.

Thanks again for your help..

Antonio

Hi Antonio-

If it helps, one common issue where the new target fails to source the share
data is when the shares are at the root. This is not recommended.
Instead, it is advisable to create the shares (and replica targets) at a
link under that root, rather than the root itself.
