I have a Windows NT Server authenticating users logon and
a Windows 2000 Server acting as a File and Print Server.
What i have noticed happening is that after updating my
Windows 2000 Server with service pack 4 users started
getting all sorts of error messages saying eg: Windows is
unable to load roaming profile. A local copy of your
prfile will be loaded. However for some users it goes on
to say "Could not load local copy of yor profile" see your
administrator. What i have done is from Group Policy
editor i have enabled the policy {Do not check for user
ownership of Roaming Profile Folders} and i have not had a
reoccurence of the load user profile error but what i have
noticed now which i am having the real problem with is
that once the user has logged off all settings are lost
especially the printer settings. Note:!! Some most of
these user are connected to the Server via IBM Network
Stations which uses the Thin Client to connect. These
assume the local user settings on the windows server but
its still even denying them access to printers on the
server and Internet Explorer proxy settings will not save.
Your answers and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Eagerly awaiting your responses.
Thanks in advance
