I've just started getting the following message on our Windows 2000 Server.
It is part of a 2003 Server domain and up until now has had no issues. The AD
password wasn't changed, and we even re-entered the exact password for this
account with no luck.

"The system cannot log you on to this domain because the system's computer
account in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is
incorrect"

Try rejoining it to the domain.

It isn't. Logon as local administrator, take it to workgroup, then after
restart join it to the domain. Your systems admin should have the password.

| Dave,
|
| How is this possible without logging onto the 2000 Server???

Dave,

If we had the password we would have done this already - no one knows the
local administrator password........

Then you're left with rebuilding or using one of the reset utilities you can
search for. Seems you asked the wrong question.
