I have a small windows 2000 domain with one DC. I also have 5 client machines
which, ideally, would all log into the server. As of right now, though, when
trying to log into the domain, all machines go to a local profile instead of
loading the roaming profile.
I noticed that I get event ID warning 5781:
Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or more DNS records failed
because no DNS servers are available.
This server has a static IP of 192.168.1.2. And it has itself listed as 1st
preferred DNS server. What could I have done wrong?
On the licensing manager, I also get that 3 of the server profiles check in
as unlicensed. I originally set up the domain on a PER SEAT basis. I am
thinking of switching to PER SERVER. The software I have is an OEM Windows
2000 Server with 5 CALs. Any thoughts???
