Greetings;
I set up RRAS on my Windows 2000 server and set up permissions for 2 users
in AD. I was able to log on from home with my W XP Pro PC once, but have
been unsuccessful since. I restarted the RRAS. No luck. When I do a
netstat -an while I am attempting to connect from within the office, I see
port 1723 on the server ESTABLISHED as I attempt to connect, but then fails
to authenticate at the workstation.

I use a dynamic dns service (no-ip), have a DSL modem connecting to a DSL
router using NAT for 20 pc's with proper ports open on the router. There is
one NIC in my server, which is the only server the company has.

TNX for any help.

Robert L;

Thanks for the URL. I do get the error 721 first (The remote computer did
not respond."). I just tried from inside my network to no avail. I looked
at my router's "Virtual Server" settings and I have port 47 open for TCP and
UDP. I tried it for TCP only and it failed with the same error message.

Is there a setting on the server I should check?

GRE is IP protocol not TCP. Just make sure the router is PPTP pass through.

Thanks Robert.

My router is a little older and does not have the PPTP pass thru boxes like
newer ones.

Good morning Doug,
what does the Homepage say about the Router, is it able to handle VPN?
You need to open Ports UDP 500 and TCP 1723 for a PPTP Connection.
