I have found various info and advice on this subject, but all addresses NTFS.
My old Windows rund FAT 32.
I have done some extensive research and checked the registry to find things
to be in order (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\Session
Manager
The default value is:
BootExecute:REG_MULTI_SZ:autocheck autochk *)
There is nothing wrong with the drive, and Scandisk never finds any errors
when running at bootup.
I have not been able to find any solutions, but I assume the dirty bit gets
set every time the computer closes down (no matter what)
Would a safe and valid work round be to add the k parameter to the registry
value, eg.:
BootExecute:REG_MULTI_SZ:autocheck autochk /k *
or should I add the drive letter, too?:
BootExecute:REG_MULTI_SZ:autocheck autochk /k:c *
Any help and guidelines would be appreciated - thanks.
