A reg hack we used to use for Windows 2000 to change a MAC address (to
fool the road runner cable company) apparently no longer works. Even
though we change the setting in the registery, Windows refuses to use
the updated address. For my sanity, can someone please confirm this
is because of some Windows Update/Security patch? Running Windows 2000
Pro SP3.

Thanks!

I never used the hack, but why not just change in from within Windows? Most
cards will support this. Network properties, LAN properties, Configure,
advanced.

You need a utility to change the MAC of the integrated chip on the
board,,,not
only just by software guys!! That means it will reprogram your MAC , but not
recommended
though. You can clone it thouhg, but most of the NIC on the market are not
supported to
do, unless a router or network switch by like linksys, netgear !!

Good luck guys,
J.H
