I have a user who is running windows 2000 pro at
my office. And everyday towards the end of the working day
her machine automatically reboots. Sometimes the machine
is left idle and it just reboots. She only uses simple
Office 2000 suite applications nothing intense that would
degrade the computers performence. She has 256 mb of ram
she also has a pIII 733 mhz cpu. The latest service pack
and she is protected with virus protection software. I
scanned the computer for viruses and all results came back
negative. I also have the latest worm service pack
installed from Microsoft. I think it could be a hardware
problem for example defective memory or another component
but before I take that route I wanted another opinion on
this. Can someone get back to me please.

It could be a power problem with something in the building coming on at
about the same time every day causing a glitch in the voltage. If it works
well for six or seven hours then burps at around the same time repeatably
that points to external problems to me.
