When I start up Windows 2000 Pro, whenever it gets to the
part when I log in to windows, it always reboots at the
same spot. It will do this a couple of times until I am
able to actually use Windows. I have had this problem for
aobut 2 months now and I do not know what to do. Please
help me with some information about whats happening.

Can you boot in safe mode? Do any errors appear before the system reboots?
Do you recall making any changes before this started occurring?

It is most probably caused some by some startup device/service.
1. Check the event logs for additional info.
2. Ensure that all your drivers are updated.
3. Temporary disable 3rd party startup services (esp anti-virus) for
testing.

Yes i can boot into safe mode. The reboots all started
after I was quting out of counter-strike one day, and i
thought i accidently hit the restart button with my toe.
But yes i can go to safe mode, is there any way i can fix
this problem?

Now I cannot boot into safe mode for some reason.

Dear Sir Tim,

Whatever you are given suggession that i think it will not work
because I also faced same problem. When i start my system win2k pro and it
comes to loging script, i enter local and as well as domain admin id and
password after that it accept but suddenly it comes to back login screen. I
tried safe mode, last good known config, scan virus from remotely (becaue i
can access local drives, only i cann't loging localy). After that i tried to
repair mode option from win2k pro cd but after installation its gives me
same problem. At last i format my user system and this is not happen on one
system my two more system given me same problem. If you have any solution
other than format then plz give me.
Thanking you.
Yours truly,
vicky sam.

I believe that your issue is different. This guys computers reboots itself
when he tries to logon. You said that you attempt to logon and then it
sends you back to a logon prompt. Your problem can occur if the drive
letters have changed. See the article below
