Dear all,
I have a problem using my windows 2000 professional
(Service Pack 4); when I open My Computer or Internet
Explorer 6 it tooks about 1-3 minutes to open, I have
check the harddisk but there are no errors found.
My computer is P4 2GHz with 256MB RAM.
What can I do to resolve this problem???
Thanks.

If you are a heavy computer user, trying running defrag....or deleting cookies/temp/temp internet files/recent/recycle bin

Or maybe...did this problem start after you installed SP4? If so, try un-inistalling it, and try to open IE again. If it still has problems then put SP4 back on. Its a pain but, I have heard about problems after SP4 installs

Or check for a virus..........

Check to see what's loading on startup, if findfast is
checked, uncheck it, it actually slows things down.
How fast are your HD's??
How old is your pc??

Dear,
I have tried to defrayment my pc and check it with
scandisk and Norton utilities but nothing happened after
that, I don't think that SP4 is the reason because I have
install it before a long time and the pc was working fine.
Recently, I have installed Office 2003 professional, did
any one notice any problem in it???
My PC is one year old, and the harddisk is Seagate 40GB
7200 RPM.
Thanks.
