I have two laptops and 1 desktop. I installed SP4 on a
three machines. The two laptops perform flawlessly.

The desktop was a different matter. After installation my
email client Outlook 2000 worked as it did before.
However, IE 6.0 and Outlook Express 6.0 were so throttled
that rendering a simple page such as google took over
15mins on a broadband connection. I have reverted my
desktop back to SP3, but would be interested if this is a
reported problems, and if there is a solution other than
fall back.

Thanks,

Jim

Same problem here. Only solution I found was reinstalling
w2k from my original CD, which created other problems.

After installing sp 4 internet explorer was all but
destroyed. Hopefully a solution will be found quickly.

Hi to both of you

I have heard that deleting the TCP/IP-Protocol and then re-installing it has
helped in some cases. So you might want to try that.

Another solution came up here too for the case that the Internet is very
slow after SP4 (by
Ed Sweeney):

"Change the value from 1 to 0(zero) in this registry item:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\
Parameters\Tcpip1323Oopts

Right-click on the value and change the number from 1 to
zero. Reboot and surf away!

I decided not to backup my files before applying the
service pack....thought I was S-O-L.

My internet is back to blazing again...Yippee!

** ALL warnigs regarding changing registry values apply **
ALWAYS backup your registry before applying any changes.
Enjoy!"

Hope this helps. Regards,

Fabio
