Hi all, is it possible (I am sure the answer is no already!) to upgarde a NAS
Dell 725 from Windows 2000 Powered NAS (Build 2195) to a Windows 2003
variant? The NAS is preventing me from raising my domain functional level to
Windows 2003 native.

TIA

Kenny

Hello KennyW,

The FFL and DFL are only important for Domain controllers. Any other server
can coexist even if the level is set to Server 2003, in the moment the highest
level. NAS stands for Network attached Storage, AFAIK. So can you clarify
your configuration.

Best regards

Thanks Meinolf, your explaination for the requirements for a native Windows
2003 domain answered my question regarding the upgrade of the NAS OS. Could I
upgrade a domain to a native Windows 2003 domain but leave a Windows 2000
domain controller in a child domain as is?

I am guessing not?

Again TIA.

Top man, thanks Meinolf :o)
