.... actually, that's not totally true. I am setting up a small network which has a Windows 2000, and a Windows 98 PC. They are both present in the workgroup and are able to ping each other. The Windows 2000 PC can see and share files on the Win98 c: drive, but cannot find d:. I tried netuse and browsing the drives, but get "the network name cannot be found." Also, the Win98 PC can find the c$ on the Windows 2000 PC, but says "you must supply a password to make this connection." No matter what password I enter, I cannot connect. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance

Dorma,
When sharing between Win98 PCs and Win2K PCs it is essential that the Win98
PC has a user profile set up with the SAME username as on the Win2K PC.
To check if you have profiles configured (and to rename one if you do) on
the win98 PC go to |Start|Settings|Control Panel| -> Open "Users"
To make sure that the Win2K PC can see files on the D: of the Win98
machine - make sure that drive is also shared... It sounds to me like you
have shared out the C: drive on the Win98 PC and not the D:
Cheers,
P
