I've tried setting up a home network with Windows 2000 on
my laptop and Windows XP home edition on my desktop. I
tried to get in from the network link and it was asking
for a password. I went back into windows 2000 to try and
disable the password but I think I messed up so my laptop
is locking me out now. My usual password does not work
and I can't even get into windows. Can someone give me
suggestions.

So, you're locked out of both Windows 2k on the desktop and locked out of XP
on the laptop?

I'm confused bc your description sounded like you jacked the lap into the
router and it was looking for the "network" password (your words) and that
to me sounds like it was looking for the username/pw of the admin page of
the router. You know the IP address you had to visit in order to config the
router.
