windows 2000 on a logical drive ?????

can you install windows 2000 on a logical partition within an extended
partition?

i installed it there ok but it keeps rebooting after the intial startup
screen.

any ideas thanx john

you can install win2k on a logical drive
however as is the case with all versions of windows
the "boot files" will still be installed on the primary partition.
 
yes, that's what i thought

btu for some reason it keeps rebooting itself just after the startup screen,
any ideas about that?

probably some hardware incompatibility

you may want to try again with a minimal hardware configuration...
ie: remove all non-essential items such as modem, sound card etc

also you may want to try setting the bios to it's minimum default
