I am running a small 10-PC network with 7 of my PCs running Windows 2000 Pro
and the other 3 running Windows XP Pro. Last week, I had one Windows 2000 PC
that would not boot. Not the blue screen of death, but after logging in the
computer would hang. The builder of my PC said it was likely a corrupt OS
after all of the hardware tested OK. I ended up upgrading the PC to WIndows
XP and so far it's fine.
Forward to today and I now have two more Windows 2000 PCs with the same
symptoms...will not boot. We are using the latest version of Symantec
Anti-Virus Corporate Edition with the latest downloads. Our network has a
hardware firewall.
Does anyone have any ideas why this would be happening to so many PC's in a
very short period of time? Any viruses that SAV might not have know about?
Just one heck of a coincidence?
Thanks to anyone who responds.
