Help! I have a home network with one desktop PC for myself and another
matching one for my wife. Both machines have Windows 2000 Professional as
their operating system. When my wife boots up her computer, the Windows 2000
logon screen defaults to the "Administrator" user. I want it to default to
her own sign-on, not the "Administrator" account. Can someone please tell me
how to achieve this? I am currently the Administrator on both machines.
Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to mention that my wife does indeed have a User ID and
password that is separate from the Administrator account, and she can
log on using either the Admin account or her own account without any
problems. The problem is figuring out how to make the DEFAULT logon (the
one that pops up initially at boot-up) her own account and not the
Administrator account at boot-up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mark,

Thanks for your reply. I'm not, however, looking for "automatic logon."
I'm looking to simply change the default logon that pops up when the PC
is booted up from the "Administrator" User ID to one of my own choosing.

We did this at a former employer

We wrote a script that was executed at shutdown which
updated the winlogon reg entries back to whatever user
(And password for auto logon) that you want.
