Dear all

I am using Windows 2000 Professional SP3 . Sometimes when
I logon to
Windows 2000 network, it will hang after I type in the
password. And the
screen is just blue. And it needs to reboot. And the
second time it logon,
it is OK.

Do you know why?

Thanks,

You should look at the error logs.
First, run CHKDSK to see if it fixes anything...
Start, Run, type:
cmd
and hit enter.
Type:
cd \
and hit enter.
Type:
chkdsk /r
and hit enter.
It will say the following:
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
Type "Y" and hit enter.
Reboot.
I never install a major service pack on my PC without
running chkdsk /r first.
