Hi ,

I have been upgrading my desktop computer to Win 2000 and
all was working well when I tried to get
rid , or change, the 'Administrators Window' pane which
appears when windows boots up.

I entered my name as the only user, getting rid of the
adminstrators name, and, as the administrator window needed
no password I did not enter a paaword for my name.

Now when I boot up under normal and all 'safe modes' it
gets to the window pane with my name and asks for a
pasword.
I press enter as I did when I set it up and it will not
accept it. So that is as far as I can go.
I've tried a repair from a CD but still no luck.

Any Ideas?

Roy

ps Cancer front not looking too good I'm afraid. I have to
go in hospital next week for a month which I think is a do
or die (forgive the pun)
effort.

When you setup the computer you were asked for a password for the administrator
account. Every installation has a built in administrator account that can not be
deleted or disabled. If you did not change the name of the administrator account try
logging on with it. Just enter administrator as username and then password or blank
if you do not think you created one. Remember passwords are case sensitive. See the
link below for a last resort option. --- Steve
