hello,

I'm wondering how I can determine the license key that was
used to install windows 2000 on a machine I'm using.
Isn't it kept in a file somewhere on the system?

Same thing for Microsoft Office, Visio, etc... I can't
seem to find this information in help anywhere.

thanks,

Mark

Mark,

I have a similar problem (see my post). I know that the
product key is recorded in the Registry somewhere. Go to
TechRepublic.com and search their articles, one of them
covers the procedure for recovering the key. I would find
the article for you and point you to it but I am on a very
slow connection (9.6k cellphone hookup) at the moment. In
fact, I have it at home, saw it a few months ago and
printed it out. So I know they have it. Good luck!
