I install normally Windows 2000 Advanced Server with the default options.
When The computer restarts appears:

"You have successfully completed Windows 2000 Server Setup

You can configure this server. Select the first option ..."

I select the first option ("This is the only server in my network") and
press "Enter". Then it appears a screen telling the following:

"... windows will automatically configure this server as a domain controller
and setup active directory, DHCP and DNS on your network ..."

I press "Next" to install everthing.

In the next screen I define "menesp" like my domain name and "local" like
the domain name on the internet. Then I press "Next" twice. The setup
processs begins, but when the active directory is installing, I receive the
message:

"The network location cannot be reached. For information about network
troubleshooting, see Windows Help."

Any idea what is happening. I am installing Windows 2000 Advanced Server on
an standalone computer. This computer is going to be connected in a LAN like
the server.

Your Win2000 domain name really needs to be (at least) two tags
(not one), e.g., something.local, not just local.
