I am having some majoy problems installing Windows 2000
professional.
FIrst I booted the computer from the installation cd, and
removed the
partition that contained win98se, and I created a new
partition for the
win2000 installation. It formatted it to NFTS. After the
partition work
is done, the computer reboots and starts setup by running
through a wizard
that is meant to detect hardware stuff and install "mouse
and keyboard." It usually
gets through this about 70%, and then the screen goes
black and I get a
flashing cursor. I've tried many things.
This next time, I installed win98, which worked fine, then
upgraded, and told it to change
the drive to NTFS, then it gave me the "stop 0x7b" error
i'm sure you all are familiar with.
