Windows 2000 error in software cannot start on booting - Error message posted

Ran disk cleanup on system tools to help clear hard disk
drive space to install a new printer. When I woke up this
morning the computer had tried to re-boot overnight and
the following message was listed:

"Windows 2000 could not start because of an error in the
software.
load needed DLLs for kernel
Please contact your support person to report this problem"

I am a poor college student who cannot afford a new
computer. Your help iS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Are you sure that's the exact error? That doesn't sound right.
