Hi

We have 3 DNS servers acting as primary/secondary. Latest service pack and
patches for Windows 2000.

The primary was offline for 2 days... no biggie, we have two backups.

However, both secondary server zones seemed to have just gone "offline"
after 2 days. Both at the same time.

Is this normal behavior, bug, etc? Anyone else?

thank you.

This has to do with the SOA expiration time. if the SOA expire was one day
the secondary zone would expire after not being able to check its SOA record
after one day. So they would expire on the second day.
This is normal if the primary is Wim2k, the default expire is one day. If
you had changed the secondary to a primary it would not have expired.
