Hello,

I'm using a D-Link614+ with PPPOE to connect to the Internet. I only
have one computer connected to the router.

Ocasionnally, my connnection to the Internet will hang and I have to
unplug the router and replug it for the Internet connection to work
again.

I thought it was either faulty wires or a bad router however when I
boot the same PC in Linux Red Hat 8.0 (Both W2k and Linux are
installed on my PC) the connection doesn't hang.

Is there some known bug in the DHCP service of Windows 2000 that could
be causing this ?

There is nothing that I am aware of, but when you connection appears to hang
from the Windows 2000 box, can you ping your default gateway? Can you ping
to the internet? What is your local ip on the W2K system, i.e. do you still
have one?

Let us know, and we can take it from there. :)
