I updated my graphics driver via windows update and when I
rebooted windows it gets a ways then restarts, even if I
try to boot in safe mode. How can I fix this?

Go back top the earlier graphics driver. (Why did you update? Just because it
available? Never update a machine that is working OK!)

OTOH, you may have acquired a virus about the same time you updated.

Thanks for the responce, however how can I reload the
original driver? I can not get windows to complete a
boot, even in safe mode.

Thanks again.

You can first try a last-known-good boot. If that doesn't work
(it probably won't), you need to boot from your Windows CD,
select install, and then select the repair-this-installation option.
(This is NOT the same thing as doing the initial setup "repair"
option).

Oh, oh, that's bad. The following may help:

a) boot off the CD and repair your installation directly from it.

b) make a set of emergency repair disk on any other W2K system, and boot off
them. (NB: make sure they are write-protected)

Either way, run the anti-virus software on C: drive from the commandline
first, then try a repair. The symptoms you describe have been associated with
blaster in other posts IIRC.
