Hi I need some advice,
We have one domain and two domain controllers or one pdc and one bdc,
my problem is that since setting the clients w2k etc up on dns and wins they
are authenticating against the wrong server for example say server "A" is in
shropshireand server "B" is in kent. Clients in shropshire are
authenticating against
server "B" in kent and clients in kent are authenticating against server "A".
I know that it is possible at times for all clients to be able to
authenticate against either server as they are considered the same, what I
would like to do is force the clients to use only their local domain
controller as the sites they are are situated at are hundred miles apart. I
think the problem has occured while implementing dns and wins in the network
wher as clients used to broadcast locally to find the servers.
Any advice would be much appreciated
