Hi all, is there any way to format external USB2
hard drives (in an enclosure/case), in NTFS??

And also can you boot off USB2 hard drives
with Windows / Windows 2000 at all??

Or can external USB2 hard drives only be used as slaves. Not as bootdisks
for the main operating
system?

If so, how?? Can someone let me know, or
post a few sites, with steps/answers etc.

Thanx

Yes, Disk Management does thsi very nicely.

No. The drive would need to have a drive letter assigned to it during POST.
Not possible with USB enclosures.

If this is a requirement then you're gonna have to use external SATA
drives/enclosures as these attach to the mainboard's SATA controller and do
get a drive letter assigned during POST.

You're welcome.

Cheers Colon for the info. Much appreciated
