Windows 2000 and Microsoft Works

I already have the software application for Microsoft
Works version 4.5a for windows 95. I purchased a laptop
computer and it has windows 2000 on it. I tried to
download Microsoft Works on to it, but it told me that
there was not enought of space on my hard drive to run the
setup. Works takes up 59MB and I have available 36000MB
on my hard drive. Why will Works not download to my
laptop?

Although I don't know for sure, I'd be willing to bet that
the install program for your grossly outdated MS Works is
incompatible with Windows 2000, and the applications
themselves probably are too. remember.. your software is
almost 9 years old! You really should move on to a newer
version. I couldn't find anything on the MS site about
compatability with Win 2000, but the version you have is
not Y2K compliant if that tells you anything, although
they are still posting the Y2K patch for Works 4.5a.

I found Works 2003 for fifty bucks using pricewatch.com:

I take back what I said in the other post.. MS says Works
4.5a is compatible.
When it says there is not enough space, what drive is it
listing?
