WINDOWS 2000 & 98

Windows 98 came installed on my Compaq. I just had
someone work on it and they loaded Windows 2000
Professional. Unfortunately this has interfered with many
of my programs and my digital camera won't even work. Is
there any way to uninstall this Windows 2000 Professional
and/or restore my original Windows 98?

It depends. If your system partition is still FAT or FAT32,
and if Win2000 is installed in a folder other than c:\Windows,
then it may be possible. To get an answer to these questions,
do this:
- Start / Run / cmd {OK}
- Type this command:
chkdsk c: /L
What file system do you see?
- Type this command:
echo %SystemRoot%
What do you see?
 
Take your computer back to the person who loaded the illegal copy of Windows
2000 on it and demand that they reload Windows '98 from your original CD
back onto your computer.

That "someone" thought they were doing you a favor ... they weren't.
 
It sounds like whoever installed Win 2000 did not install the correct
drivers for it. If you can bring it back and have him install all the new
drivers for your software and Win2000 it should work . Like your camera if
you go to the Website for that brand camera and download the drivers for Win
2000 it should work again. Find someone else that knows how to do it RIGHT
