I am running a Peer-to-Peer network with five Win98
machines and a new Win2000 machine. The computers all see
each other across the network. The problem is that when I
try to map a network drive from any Win98 macine to the
Win2000 machine it asks me for a password. I have not set
up any passwords on the Win2000 machine.

Create an identical account, username/password, on both computers. Log into
the win98 computer using this account.

Unlike win98, win2k is a networking OS and therefore needs to know the
credentials of anyone accessing its resources. Since this is a peer to peer
(no domain controller) the only way for win2k to know the cedentials of the
win98 user is to have this account locally on the win2k computer.
