Ok here is a toughie i cannot figure out nor have i have i ever experienced
before. Originally was working on a 2003 server, it has been running IIS
for months with no issue. After the auto updates all of the inbound network
services suddenly stopped over night. Nothing in the even logs that appears
to be abnormal. Tried uninstalling the last few updates to no avail.

I decided to rebuild with Win2k. Everything was fine until i did the
windows update and now, same exact thing is happening. Switched NICS and no
good. Anyone help, i cannot get to this server anywhere from the network,
although i can get to the internet fine. Machine does not even respond to
pings and windows firewall and advanced port settings are NOT being used
every port is open from TCP/IP.

There is no software at all on this server and it does not appear to be a
hardware issue. Is there something screwy with the new windows update
service that disables inbound connections? If thats the case i will never
turn the auto update feature back on again. Any help would be greatly
appreciated as i am totally stumped on this one.

thanks
