Windows 10 Windows 10 update - repercussions?

Since I updated my version of Windows 10 (20H2) - every morning I turn on my PC and Whatsapp is missing off the Taskbar. I go to the programs list and pin it to the taskbar and off we go again ....until the next morning and it's gone again!
Anybody got any idea how to fix this minor, but irritating, quirk?

Oh well that was a hell of a read and sounded quite complicated without a final solution until.... someone ran the very first solution again and apparently it worked , so I'll have to try that.
