Dual booting XP Pro and 2000 Pro. When I boot to 2000
pro the domain fails with error message " Trust
relationship between this workstation and the primary
domain failed" So I login a local admin and rejoin the
domain. works great. Now when I login to XP it will
give me the samne error listed above. I rejoin the
domain as local admin in XP and it fials on 2000. whats
the deal here? Is this on my end or the AD admins
problem to deal with?

If the machine is named the same and since the are both a member of the

154501 How to Disable Automatic Machine Account Password Changes

Hi Richard,

AFAIK this will not make sure that the password for the machine account is the
same on both machines. If I'm wrong I'm willing to learn.

I'd prefer the first thing you wrote - use different computernames for each OS,
so it'll create different computeraccounts in AD and doesn't care about the
password of the other machine account.

Gruesse - Sincerely,
