Hi John,
When you did the installation of XP did you done Clean installation on the
same W2k and done the format of HDD to wipe of the Win2000, you have dual
boot.
To get rid of Wi2000 which I assume that what you want, Click the Start
Button then open the command RUN and type the following:
msconfig Press OK and on the new window click on Boot.ini and click on
Check All Paths and on there delete the line for Win2000, the Windows XP
lines will looks like this leave this:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition"
/fastdetect

Then click OK/Save and Reboot and see if the dual boot window will come up.

Hi John,
If your win2000 installed on D:\ you can perform a format disk on that
partition to wipe it off, or open Windows Explorer and you will see the
win2000 folders you can delete it and if there are Data there you would like
to retrieve just copy it to the XP folder or Move option.

Hi,
I had read this thread to help me with my computer. I had a similar problem
except both versions on my computer consisted of XP home edition. I had used
the way you had taught John to delete the dualbooting. Thanks it helped.

One question though. Although I have no dualboot, I believe my 1st XP still
exists on my hard drive. How would I get rid of it? I have a hard time to
find it and I believe it is on the same drive. Can you guide me please?
