If I upgrade to VISTA 64 bit ,will all my 32 bit programs or games for that
matter will work with a 64 bit ? in other words is it 32 bit backward
compatible...

Not all programs will. Some will, some won't. It is a long list of both.

Most anti-virus and firewall products will not work on the other platform.

Haven't found a game yet tho that wont. I run both vista x86 and x64 on a
dual boot, and very rarely boot in to vista x86. mainly because i
authenticated with my bank on it, and i cant remember what my identification
question and answers were.

Yes, it is backwards compatible (for the most part) with 32 bit programs. 16
bit programs will not work on the 64 bit version, but will in the 32 bit
version.

I have just moved from Vista 32 to Vista 64 and haven't found any problems
running software yet.

It's always advisable in this situation to sit down and list all the vital
software you can't be without, then make individual checks on compatability
before migrating. Check the software producers's website or user forums for
the information you require.
