Window size

I have had XP for a year and I must have done something
to my program.When I go to a site and click on an item
that opens a sub site/window, the window is small. About
4" x 5".I have to maximize it.
Can I do something to return to the old window size
configuration?

Drag it - don't maximise.
 
You could try stretching the window to full size using the mouse and then
click on File and the Close, next time you open it, it may open to the
stretched size. This works with OE, IE, Windows Explorer and some programs.
