Window size

I've been looking every where for answers to this. I tried resizing my
monitor screen, changing resolutions, still can't figure it out.
Ive got a 17" in Magnavox(Philips) Magnascan17 monitor.
A All in Wonder Series 9700 video card. My resolution is 1280X960, 16BPP.
Font size 192%.
Here's my problem; I open an application, everything looks fine, but during
the course of opening and closing windows I run up against a window that has
some buttons at the bottom of the screen that I can't get to, like an Ok or
Apply or Accept. Example, advanced settings in the display icon of the
control pannel.

I would like to change the font size from custom @ 192% to "normal" I can
change the info at the top/middle of the page but can't press the "accept
changes"(I don't know what it actually says) button at the very bottom of the
page. I can't drag the page up high enough to see it!!!
Realy would like to find out what's going on, Thanks, Ron

Perhaps you need to adjust your monitor to make the entire image visible.
By the way, 1280 X 960 is a bit much for a 17" CRT monitor. I use the same
resolution @ 85 Hz vertical refresh on a 19" CRT; a 17" CRT monitor with
normal size font set and 1280 X 960 resolution probably will not be very
readable.

The 'Nokia Monitor Test' is a set of test patterns that are good for
adjusting your monitor and judging the quality of the image.

That is an odd resolution.
Try 1280X1024 or 1024X768.

No, 1280 X 960 isn't an 'odd' resolution. It is a standard 4:3 ratio, just
like 640 X 480 and 800 X 600 and 1024 X 768 and 1600 X 1200. The resolution
1280 X 1024 is the 'odd' one, it is 'over square'; a 5:4 ratio, while 1600 X
900 is 9:5, wide screen - very near the Academy proportion 1.85 for movies.
