Once I adjust a window to a certain size, I would like it to be the same
size every time I open it (unless I change its' size again). However, it
seems that Windows XP Pro has a mind of its' own. I can't find a setting
that will allow me to do this. Can anyone help?

The window will be sized to whatever the last open instance of the app
was. For example, if you open Word (one instance) and size the window to
your choosing, close the app, then later start up Word again, the window
size will be at that last size you sized it to. If however, you open
Word and size that window to your choosing and then open another
instance of Word and size that window differently and close the first
instance, the last instance (open window) of Word will be the new window
size when you open up Word again later.

I should have specified that I meant a FOLDER window.

The same principle should apply to folder windows. The size of the folder
window when you LAST opened it, is the size it should be when re-opened
later. Is that not happening in your case?

Try this, Start -> Run -> regedit.
Got to the following keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags

Delete both "BagMRU" and "Bags" keys.

Reboot your PC and set up each of your folders as you were doing and see
if the settings will be "remembered." Windows will recreate those keys
during the reboot. I've read that they sometimes get corrupted by third-
party apps, even though I've not experienced it so far.
