Hi All
I have been trying also to rid myself of the MSN Messenger. This has failed
all attempts.
I am wondering, how many messengers are there in the winxp pro sp1. (See
Subject line)
I would like to be able to completely get rid of MSN Messenger, Windows
Messenger (if it does in fact exist as a stand alone) and what is Net
Messenger.??
I have followed some instructions in the groups earlier and have ended up
having to reinstall the MSN Messenger to get my MSN to work.
If anyone can help I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks to all who truly help us newbies.

I don't use MSN Messenger and I don't use Windows Messenger (it does
exist) Other people use my computer and I don't want them using
Windows Messenger on my computer either.

C:\Program Files\Messenger\Msmsgs.exe = Windows Messenger.
Don't know of Net Messenger.

To disable Windows Messenger boot up in safe mode and using Windows
Explorer go to the folder mentioned above which contains msmsgs.exe.

While in safe mode rename the file to msmsgs.exe.bak and create a text
file with Notepad, rename it as msmsgs.exe (no .txt extension).

I disable msimn.exe (Outlook Express) in the same way.
