when ripping tracks off cd with wmp , tracks are recorded
at a increased speed resulting in every track soundng
like the chipmonks. any ideas on how to rectify this
would be great.
 
Start/open My Computer/rightclick your CD-Rom drive (probably "D"
properties/recording tab/check near bottom for writing speed, yo
have choice from 1X, to 24X to fastest. Cut back one notch and if tha
doesn't suite you slow down till you get it right. Your disk spee
should match your CD-Rom writing speed.

byte, that is not what he's asking.
 
That is exactly what he is asking.........if the recording speed is too fast tha
the playback will not be compatible. His player may be adjusted, but primaril
the problem is that his recording/writing speed is not commensurate wit
the CDs he's using. Or is this too far beyond your comprehension?
 
Byte, You are referring to the burning speed. This is no way relates to the
play back of the files once they have been ripped on the PC. The question
doesn't relate to burning at all.

The OP needs to lower hardware accelerations levels for the sound card via
dxdiag.exe.
