I am using window mail with AVG Grisoft free addition. The virus scanner
works well however my incoming and outgoing messages do not show that my
email is being checked. Grisoft virus scan says the email scanner is working.
Can anyone solve this problem for me. Thanks in advance from Aussie.

you don't want it to check them using any AV scanner, it just screws up
things.

Let the base AV scanner work instead, if you open up anythin gwith a virus,
the base AV will tell you. You do have to stay up to date but that's with
anything anyway.

AV scanning is not needed and will mess up things. See some of the past
posts in this newsgroup where you will see the same advise from others.

I don't understand your statement "my incoming and outgoing
messages do not show that my email is being checked."
Why would you want your messages to show evidence of being checked?
Mail checking is anathema to Windows Mail.

you have to turn on the options to display the checked message.

lots of people say turn off email scanning . I do NOT.

have NEVER had a problem with it. of course there is always the first time.

G'day Mike.

I also use AVG and have the email scanner operational. I don't see any "no
virus" message in my sent emails, although recipients do see the message.

I see the message on received emails. Have you tried sending yourself an
email and seeing if the message is there?
When you go to the email scanner properties, you say all the boxes are
ticked. Have you gone into details and checked that the message field is not
blank?

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely
foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Email scanning should be disabled as it is superfluous...
see... http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

the message only gets applied as it is being sent apparently, it does not show till it has been sent.
send a mail to someone and have them forward it back.
you should then se both the outgoing message and the incoming message.
