Window hides under taskbar

I prefer to place my taskbar at the top of the screen.
Initially windows reconises the new placement and adjust
newly opened windows to fit the new desktop size.

However recently newly open windows hide behind my
taskbar (autohide is off) and i have to resize my taskbar
every time to get the new window to fit against the
taskbar. (It's similar to the situation of the desktop
wallpaper not reconizing the taskbar placement and does
not resize properly till you refresh the desktop.)

Any way to avoid this happening as it is getting very
annoying.

I finally stopped using auto hide because of this problem.
I had a heck-of-a time, with it, so I finally stopped using
it, but if someone answers you , I need to know the answer
too.....sorry I wasnt able to help you tho.
