My Computer, My Document, and Window Explorer does not
start without any error message. Is this due to the
registry problem or a kind of virus?
Thanks.

Hey Dan,

You may want to go to control panel, open admin tools and
open the event viewer files and open the application
programs and view the errors. If you have event errors
like 8193 or 4609 you can restore your system to a date
just before your event occurred. I had an event very
similar to yours and a restoration brought my cpu back to
normal ops.

You can also use google and find more info on your error
codes.

This is the exact problem I am having with the Windows XP
home version. I can log onto windows, but then the whole
screen is blank (with a pretty background). No bottom
strip, no start box/menu, and not one icon. When I go
into task manager (the only thing I can do), I can
activate programs from there. But, that appears to be the
only way. Can anyone help?!
