Hi

I have been having a problem with freezes
and reboots (especiallt freezes in OE).

Anyway whilst looking around in msinfo
tools - automatic skip driver agent (which
I am unfamilliar with) I got this error message
below.

****

Window encountered a fatal problem
calling a PnP BIOS function

The specific function that caused the problem is

Get Satically Allocated Resoursed Information

The reference for this problem is

0A 00 00 00 C8 E8 00

To solve contact manufacturer.

****

I assume PnP is plug and play???
Does the above message mean any thing to anyone.

Thanks half_pint.

Thanks half_pint.

It can be many things.
1:Corrupt BIOS.Remove power cord,clear CMOS,reset correct BIOS
parameters for hardware.
2:Faulty AGP/PCI device.Strip to bare minimum e.g one video
device, clean all drivers out and software of removed devices.
3:mother board drivers need re-installing.
4:Faulty or incorrect RAM.If the user has two sticks try each
separately in each slot.Software ram testers are not much use.
These are just a few to help.

Never touched the bios before so I dont know how to clear
or reset it.

Again I don't know how to do this.

Well, I could explain in detail how to go about doing all that.
However, after you insulted me you said that you didn't need my help.

Good point. However I reserve my killfile for a select few and he just isn't
in that league. I'll just ignore him huh?

No I didn't insult you you only thought I insulted you.
Anyhow its a simple think to look up on the net,
not that I will even bother as I have other things to examine first
and that is rather low on the list.

So **** off you pompous presumptious twat.

Enlightening link, thanks. I glad he insulted me earlier, otherwise I could
have wasted a good half-hour trying to explain stuff to him.

It's interesting what you can find with a Google groups search. One of
the more annoying posters uses "X-No-Archieve-Yes" in all of his posts.
Enough respondants quoted him to get a pretty good view of his activities,
which included posting to many ng's.

I don't, my problem been solved for at least a week, you were no help

It will take a whhile to determine which of the modifications fixed it,
but the solution was not provided my anyone here.
So thanks for....err.....nothing.
